Walk YOUR Way for Autism - Stepping in the Right Direction for Autism

                                   Join us on Saturday, June 7th!

Walk YOUR Way is the largest annual fundraiser dedicated to supporting programs and services for the local autistic community. This inclusive event encourages participants to walk in their own way, fostering a sense of community and demonstrating support for a more inclusive future.

On June 7, the CBRM community will come together to raise funds for Autism Nova Scotia, ensuring that crucial programs and services continue to make a positive impact in the lives of autistic individuals in our region.​ All money raised directly keeps programs and services running here in Cape Breton!

When:  Saturday, June 7, 2025
Where: Centennial Athletic Track - 90 Cabot St., Sydney NS
*Parking is available on Cabot Street, Hospital Street and at the Centennial Arena

Rain Location: Membertou Arena (participants will receive an e-mail, and updates via social in the event of a rain location).

Event Day:

Arrive at 11:00am to pick up your Walk shirt, enjoy outdoor games, and connect with friends, family, and community members. 

The Walk will begin at noon, we will complete one lap as a group, then particpants can choose to continue laps if they wish — whether you're walking, wheeling, or strolling, everyone is welcome to take part. After the Walk, we’ll come together to enjoy cake and refreshments as we celebrate the power of community and inclusion.

Fundraising:

Volunteers will be collecting any cash, cheque or debit donations onsite for individuals and teams. Online donations can continue to be made through your Walk team pages. The deadline for fundraising dollars (cash, card and cheque) is June 13th. Please ensure all donations have been added to your page, and any remaining cash or cheque donations brought into our office with your participant or team details.

Don't forget, the 'Top Individual Fundraiser' from each location will be rewarded with an East Coast Lifestyle, Classic Vintage Hoodie. Winners will be announced and notified on June 25th. 

 

Details

"Walk" is an opportunity for autistic individuals, families, and caregiver networks to come together as a community and support the 14,000+ individuals on the autism spectrum across Nova Scotia. Funds raised through "Walk" empower Autism Nova Scotia to help individuals find gainful employment, learn crucial life skills, build support networks, and so much more. The generous support of our walkers, teams, sponsors and donors makes all this possible.
